I just read the article and let me tell you. Just because young people want to speak their minds they want to shut down something that has made it internationally. It's totally wrong. People are going to find other means of expressing their own oppinions about things, and they have every right to.

I completely agree. Which is why I posted it.

So does that mean that they would shut the entire site down or just in Egypt? Either way, I think it's ridiculous.

Haven't read the article for a while, but what I think they're trying to do is get the ISP's in Egypt to prevent access to the site. Not sure they can shut it down from the site end, but not sure. I'll have to reread the article to know for certain.

what they want to do in egypt is shut down access, like china try to police their internet users. it's smacking of a government telling their people what to think.

Indeed. I wonder though can anything be done about it? I'm not proposing we take on the Egyptian powers that be of course, but should, and therefore can, we stand by and let this stuff carry on? If not, what else can be done? I'd be interested to hear people's views on this if they'd like to post them.
